The CINN Foundation

Founded more than two decades ago by Medical Director, Dr. Leonard J. Cerullo, CINN is one of the nation’s leading institutions for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of people with brain and spine disorders. The Institute comprises 35 neurosurgeons and other neurospecialists including neurology, physiatry, internal medicine and radiology and is affiliated with 8 hospitals throughout the Chicagoland area. Committed to furthering the care of its patients through providing an enhanced range of treatment alternatives and impacting the future of neuroscience through research initiatives, CINN created The CINN Foundation in early 2002.

The CINN Foundation Mission

The CINN Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with neurologic disorders through basic and clinical research, education and community outreach. The Foundation supports researchers and educators focused on advancing the treatment of patients suffering from brain tumors, stroke, spinal cord injury and back disorders, epilepsy, and Parkinson’s Disease.

Why the Neurosciences?

Over 90 million individuals are afflicted with a neurological disorder. And, while this number is increasing due to an aging population, the prospects for improving treatment have never looked brighter. Innovations in computer technology and biologic advances are providing researchers and clinicians with the tools to achieve enhanced outcomes and, in some cases, even a cure for these debilitating disorders.
